At the crossroads of perception this case study house is both illusion and reality. It points at a revised balance between what we construct and its relation to other conditions and systems. It requests to be part of an ecology, to be actively engaged with all processes throughout space and time. Los Angeles as idea and as a place means to cultivate a diversity of environments. Together they weave the continuous yet always changing fabric of its landscape. The logic of real estate* normalizes the richness of this landscape as an inclusive context, continuing the monotony of colonial pastiche and postmodernist gesturing — all maxed out to claim all space in exchange for nothing.
